Explore the mysteries of fermentation in this folk school class! Participants will learn basic techniques and recipes for easy vegetable fermentation, including sauerkraut, pickles, and kim chi. We will also cover tools and troubleshooting for fermentation beginners, as well as the health benefits and culinary uses for fermented veggies.

New Ways to Cook with Sourdough

Perhaps, like many people, you've discovered the satisfaction of making your own sourdough bread. Did you know there are many other ways to use your sourdough starter besides loaves of bread?

In this class you will learn how to create and care for a sourdough starter of your very own. We will also go through several recipes, such as pancakes and English muffins, that can be naturally-leavened with sourdough, creating nutritious, easily digestible treats that also allow you to reduce waste with discarded starter from bread baking.
